Empower, Elevate, Celebrate: Tech Without Limits

A space to amplify voices, share stories, and build a more inclusive tech world.

What is we_coded

Six years ago, we_coded began as SheCoded—a space to uplift voices too often overlooked in tech. Since then, our mission has grown, but our purpose remains the same: to create a welcoming, empowering space for women, transgender, nonbinary, gender-nonconforming, and two-spirit individuals to share their stories, knowledge, and connections on DEV.

we_coded is our love letter to the community—a celebration of resilience, progress, and the future we’re building together. Every year, we come together to reflect on achievements, spark important conversations, and amplify the voices that make tech more diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

Join us in celebrating and empowering diverse voices in tech—because representation matters.

How to get involved

Create we_coded content

Your voice matters! Share your experiences, insights, and reflections on being in tech as a woman, transgender, nonbinary, gender-nonconforming, or two-spirit person.

How to contribute:

  • Write a blog post on DEV using the #wecoded tag
  • Create videos, artwork, or other creative expressions
  • Share your journey on social media

Add your pronouns to your profile

Representation starts with visibility! Adding your pronouns helps create a more inclusive tech space where everyone feels seen and respected.

Why it matters:

  • Normalizes pronoun sharing in professional spaces
  • Helps avoid misgendering in discussions and collaborations
  • Creates a safer and more welcoming environment

Why stories matter

Every story shared helps build a more inclusive tech world.

When people see experiences that reflect their own, it inspires confidence, belonging, and resilience.

Whether you're sharing challenges, achievements, or lessons learned, your story can encourage others and push for more equitable spaces in tech.

By amplifying diverse voices, we strengthen connections, foster mentorship, and create opportunities for others to thrive.
